KAREN BLIXEN MUSEUM
Karen Blixen Museum is located 10 kilometers outside Nairobi CBD. It was built in 1912 by Ake Sjogren a Swedish engineer. Its attached property was bought by Karen Blixen in 1917 with the intension of operating and running a coffee plantation. The house was donated by Danish government after the Blixen’s separated in 1921 and Karen Blixen returned to Denmark in 1931 to the new Kenyan government as an independence gift. In 1986 it was opened to the public due to the popularity of the movie out of Africa. It later became a Kenyan National Museum. The house contains the original décor and props from the 1985 film. KENYATTA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE
Kenyatta International Conference Center is a 28 story building located at the city centre in Nairobi. It is a commercial building which was completed in 1973. It is 105 meters (344Ft) with a floor area of 225,000 square meters. It was constructed and designed by Architect Karl Henrick. It is one of the tallest buildings before times towers and newr buidings were constructed. It was commissioned by Mzee Jomo Kenyatta it is mostly known as a venue for meetings, exhibitions, conferences and special events. Nairobi Archives is located along Moi Avenue opposite Ambassador Hotel. It is situated at the CBD. It is in the old Bank of India building. The National Archives was established in 1965 by an Act of Parliament of Kenya. It houses the Murumbi Gallery, Kenyan history, politics and Kenyan art. The main floor houses the historical documents and photographs the artifacts and the paintings actually displays the Kenyan culture and the country’s art. Murumbi Gallery contains African artifacts. They were collected in the 19th century. Murumbi Gallery is located at the ground floor of the building. It is actually named after Joseph Murumbi the second vice president in Kenya.
